Gamma Aging Solutions
Equipment, components and other materials used in nuclear power generation facilities must be qualified to withstand radiation exposure at normal and accident conditions. Performed in conjunction with thermal aging, seismic testing and performance testing, gamma aging and radiation hardening services from Isomedix Services are key components of the environmental qualification of these materials.

The Gamma Aging Process:

Helps determine and predict the useful life of key materials under normal and hazardous operating conditions
Is appropriate for qualification and certification of new materials and equipment, as well as for premature failure analysis
Can take place while equipment is connected to either electrical or pneumatic power sources (Whitby, Ontario facility)
Complies with various international standards for performance and reliability
Allows projects to be processed in the off-carrier mode with manual rotation of the test specimens
Uses dose levels from 1 kGy to 3000 kGy; most tests range between 100 kGy -1000 kGy
